Hello, welcome and hello again for those with attention deficit disorder.
This is the website (obviously) for comedy (not that obvious) writer Richard Asplin.
Why? Well a number of contributing factors have both factored and contributed.
First, as those who are unfortunate enough to know Richard will attest,
he very much likes to be very much on the cutting edge of all technological advances about a decade after everyone else has wandered away from the cutting edge
to do something better. Very much.
Secondly, the “blog”-ish bit entitled “A few words on…” is stuff written originally for this site alone. And, not too put too fine a cursor on it, Richard’s attempt to capture the spasmodic, twitchy sparks of idea and thought that occur to him on an almost hourly basis. Tired of starting a new Moleskine every twenty five minutes, scribbling jokes on the back of bus tickets and staring off into space, drooling and dizzied, trying to remember something hilarious that came to him in front of the full length bathroom mirror that morning, this site is an attempt to get all that stuff “down and out-there.” Like a gregarious vagrant.
Also frankly Richard’s hard-drive, scrap book, shelves, files, drawers and E-Z Klip storage units are aching under the weight of misfiled tatty cuttings and suchnot,
so it’s as much a public filing system as anything else. (Gosh Richard, a public filing system. Be still our beating hearts).
So here it is.
The site will cover lots of guff,
a smattering of crapola and 8 or 9
megabites of gibberish that Richard has
polluted the Western world with in the last
ooooh, let’s say decade, nigh on.
Richard hopes to get a few new “words on the subject” up per week, as they occur to him. He also quite fancies getting amusing guests to contribute. So if you’re reading this and are an amusing guest, then drop him a line.
Anyhap, the site is a work in progress and will be amended, built upon, adjusted, changed, abandoned, relaunched and genuinely sporadically fannied about with, as the whims and tides of Richard’s bi-polar disorder dictate.
Thanks for clicking
my way.
Love to all
Richard x
